Elan McSpoon (aka Katherine) makes jewelry and costume props focusing on the Steampunk style. Characterized with copper, steam, and symbols of the industrial revolution, these pieces reflect the fashions of a historical era that never was. The jewelry is made from wire, chain, watch parts, and sometimes precious and semi-precious stones. Her wife, Tegan, brings fabric to the table, making the fashionable for everyone “Tiny Hats” from yarn. Custom commissions available at request.
Gender Unbound is an event by Gender Portraits. Gender Portraits is a sponsored nonprofit project of Austin Creative Alliance, and is supported in part by the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department.
