Jonah Welch is a 25 year-old artist and mystic making work for the uplift of the transgender community. Their art touches on topics of self-knowing, dysphoria, magic, transgender spiritual renaissance, space/time, and is anti-assimilationist in nature. Recently, Jonah has toured as the central project photographer for We Are Transilient. Their work has been used by LGBT Buzzfeed, the Sylvia Rivera Law Project, We Are Transilient, GLAAD, The National Center for Transgender Equality, Artist Portfolio Magazine, Focus Features, and has been shown in a number of galleries throughout the country. This is Jonah’s second year participating in Gender Unbound, and they are excited to show the Austin community what has changed since last year.
