Artist Statement:

For most of my childhood I was so used to being uncomfortable that I didn’t realize there was another way to exist. Queerness felt different in a way I wasn’t brave enough to be, and I wouldn’t hear the term “nonbinary” until I was in college. Finding a way to define myself has improved every aspect of my life – I’m more confident, more comfortable, I’ve been able to form strong friendships and create better work. I am grateful to my transness for helping me learn to thrive, and I know that the uncomfortable child I was is still here with me, looking on with pride and awe.
